    Baby Rock

    March 6th, 2007

My kids grew up singing Johnny cash, the Ramones and Iggy Pop way before they ever heard of Barney. That was mostly because of osmosis I’m sure, and still today, their musical preferences are pretty eclectic.

Here’s a way to start them even sooner!

Baby Rock Records takes popular rock records and re-records them into soft infant friendly lullabys. The fun part is the range of music they offer:

The songs are sometimes hard to recognize and all seem to have a very Tim Burton-ish feel to them. I might just end up buying a couple albums for casual listening, as they are very relaxing and good to program by.

    Presidential Briefing

    March 5th, 2007

Condoleezza Rice briefed the President this morning.

She told Bush that three Brazilian soldiers were killed in Iraq.

To everyone’s amazement, all of the color ran from Bush’s face, then he collapsed onto his desk, head in hands, visibly shaken, almost whimpering.

Finally, he composed himself and asked her,

“Just exactly how many is a brazillion?”

    ABC developing “Caveman” Show

    March 4th, 2007

All I can say if WOOHOO!

Winner for most unusual piece of development this pilot season goes to ABC, which has turned a series of quirky Geico commercials into an actual half-hour comedy project.

“Cavemen” will revolve around three pre-historic men who must battle prejudice as they attempt to live as normal thirtysomethings in modern Atlanta.

Our Buddy Is At It Again…

    March 3rd, 2007

In a recent sermon to his Baptist congregation, nut job Jerry Falwell stated that global warming is “Satan’s attempt to redirect the church’s primary focus” from evangelism to environmentalism.

Falwell told his Baptist congregation in Lynchburg yesterday that “the jury is still out” on whether humans are causing — or could stop — global warming. But he said some “naive Christian leaders” are being “duped” by arguments like those presented in former Vice President Al Gore’s documentary “An Inconvenient Truth”.

Falwell continues to explain that CO2 induced global warming is “the greatest deception in the history of science.” This, of course, is the highly credible Jerry Falwell who also said the following:

“I think Muhammad was a terrorist.”

“AIDS is the wrath of a just God against homosexuals.”

“Telly Tubby Tinky Winky might be a gay role model”

    And lastly:

    “[God] is a Republican”

His equally credible university, Liberty University, claims they have fossils proving “man and dinosaurs did indeed live on earth at the same time.”

    Wikipedia is Un-Godly

    March 3rd, 2007

37858-shot.jpgSo the American religious nuts have created their own Wikipedia to avoid unpleasant topics such as science. Conservapedia claims to be ‘a much-needed alternative to Wikipedia, which is increasingly anti-Christian and anti-American.’

Rather than having anything as mundane as posting rules, Conservapedia has Commandments. The first Commandment is ‘ Everything you post must be true and verifiable.’ Strange that, I always thought it was ‘Thou shalt have no other gods before me.’ But Conservapedia is ‘the encyclopedia you can trust’ – apart from knowing how to spell ‘encyclopaedia’, obviously – so I must be mistaken. Oooh, hang on, Commandment Five says that American spelling of words must be used. And as everyone knows, both Jesus and his dad were born in the USA.

Coming back to Conservapedia’s First Commandment, it will be interesting to see exactly how any reference to the Bible will be verified as fact. Obviously, as a new site, many subjects have yet to appear, or are in need of expansion.

From the page on dinosaurs: “Most scientists believe that dinosaurs lived from 230 million until 65 million years ago and that they are all currently extinct. They claim the fossil evidence supports their beliefs. However, there are a number of lines of evidence that point to dinosaurs and man coexisting.

    Biz Cards

    March 1st, 2007

So I just ordered some business cards online and found a cool place that has hundreds of predesigned cards and are dirt cheap. 100 cards for as low as $3.95. They do other stuff like magnetic cards, postcards, labels, letterhead etc. And their turnaround is really fast too.

    Check them out here
