Bush plans to veto first hate crimes protection for homosexuals
This bill would be the first bill to extend hate crimes protection to homosexuals – Bush says he plans to veto it because it infringes on free speech.
First off, I didn’t realize that hate crime protection was NOT extended to homosexuals already, and second, how does this infringe on free speech? I guess free speech only applies to issues he supports.
I’m speechless.

The less sense something makes…the more he seems to back or support it. His reign of idiocy seems never ending.
The more you nuts accuse him of having no sense the more ridiculous you look. The protection this bill seeks to add already exists and it is unnecessary. We don’t need to protect people choice of lifestyle like it isn’t their choice.
First off – thanks for commenting.
I never censor any comments whether they agree or oppose my own views.
“H.R. 1592 prohibits willfully causing or attempting to cause bodily injury to any person based upon …” So It does not criminalize speech, therefore it shouldn’t be labeled as a “Hate Speech” law.
There is some argument whether this should be a Federal law or a local/state law. Ask yourself whether a Black man gets the same fair treatment in Alabama as he does say in Michigan. Making this law only enforceable by the state if they “Choose” to just won’t work.
Basically the law is already working – they just want to add sexual preference to the list of RACE, COLOR, RELIGION, OR NATIONAL ORIGIN – and whether its a “Lifestyle” as you say or not, I could argue the same about some religions – can you say Theta Level Clear? (That was a Scientology reference BTW).
I think this goes deeper and tells me you have a negative view on homosexuality – which is fine – I love the fact that we can disagree in this country, but if that type of thinking where to have held true through the years, our women would still not be able to vote, blacks would be riding in the backs of buses, and people like me would be shot on site for disagreeing with our government.
But then again, maybe this too is okay with you.
